Rigid-arm assisted manipulator arms are widely used in the automotive, film, paper and printing, home appliance and electronics manufacturing, machining and casting, food, pharmaceutical and chemical, warehousing and logistics, and new energy industries.
This manipulator is specifically engineered for automotive final assembly lines, integrating advanced pneumatic assist technology with precision end-effector design to address the challenges of windshield installation, including heavy component handling, fragility, and complex alignment.
Core Technical Features
Vacuum Flexible Adsorption:
The robotic arm’s end effector is equipped with multiple adjustable suction cup arrays.
These suction cups can closely conform to the curved shape of the windshield, ensuring uniform stress on the glass during lifting. This avoids glass breakage or micro-cracks caused by localized stress concentration, greatly improving the safety of the handling process.
Pneumatic Assist and Balancing System:
The system utilizes pneumatic balancing technology to make the heavy windshield appear “weightless” in the operator’s hands. The operator only needs minimal pushing and pulling force to easily guide the glass to the designated position for installation.
Gas Cut-off Protection Design:
This is one of the most important safety features of the equipment. In the event of an unexpected gas cut-off or pressure drop, the robotic arm automatically triggers a safety mechanism to prevent the glass from slipping. This design protects expensive components and also ensures the personal safety of operators on the assembly site.
Key Features
Vacuum Flexible Adsorption System: Equipped with multiple adjustable suction cup arrays, the system conforms perfectly to the curvature of various windshield models. It ensures uniform pressure distribution during handling to prevent stress-induced cracking or micro-fractures.
Pneumatic Assist & Balancing: Utilizing pneumatic balancing technology, the system renders heavy windshields “weightless” in the operator’s hands. Operators can easily guide the glass into the exact installation position with minimal manual effort, significantly reducing labor intensity.
Gas Cut-off Protection Design: Safety is prioritized with an integrated gas cut-off protection mechanism. In the event of a sudden loss of air pressure or supply, the system automatically engages security measures to prevent the glass from falling, protecting both the expensive components and the on-site personnel.
Precision Assembly: The rigid support structure minimizes pendulum effects during movement, allowing for precise alignment between the windshield and the vehicle frame. This ensures optimal adhesive sealing and structural stability of the vehicle.
Application
This manipulator is ideal for passenger and commercial vehicle assembly workshops, particularly in stations requiring the installation of windshields, rear windows, or panoramic sunroofs. It is the preferred solution for production lines that demand high assembly quality and an ergonomic, operator-friendly working environment.
