Overview
In the packaging, printing, film production, and new energy battery coating industries, roll material handling is a high-frequency and delicate task. Because roll materials are typically heavy (30kg-300kg), easily deformable, and require high surface cleanliness, traditional forklift or manual handling can easily cause material damage or personnel injury.
Roll material handling robots are specifically designed to automate the entire process of “picking up, flipping, aligning, and loading” of roll materials.
Core Functions and Operation Flow
This equipment utilizes pneumatic balancing technology to offset the weight of the coiled material, allowing the operator to move heavy coils as easily as handling a feather.
- Pickup: The robotic gripper enters the center hole (inner diameter expansion type) of the coil or clamps it from the outer circumference.
- Tilting: Core function. Supports 90° powered tilting, turning horizontally placed coils into vertical ones for mounting onto the main unit’s air shaft.
- Alignment: Multi-joint cantilever structure supports 360° horizontal rotation, ensuring precise alignment between the coil’s center hole and the equipment’s shaft.

Ergonomic Efficiency: An ergonomically designed handle integrates tilting, lifting, and clamping controls, allowing a single person to perform heavy lifting tasks.
High Safety Logic: * Interlocking Mechanism: The gripper will only release when the roll material is securely placed and the sensor confirms it.
Speed Limiting Protection: Prevents sudden rebound of the robotic arm when the load is lost.
