Rigid-arm assisted manipulator arms are widely used in the automotive, film, paper and printing, home appliance and electronics manufacturing, machining and casting, food, pharmaceutical and chemical, warehousing and logistics, and new energy industries.
Product Description
This is a suspended, track-mounted, assisted robotic arm fixed to an aluminum alloy track on the workshop ceiling. It can move back and forth along the track, covering the entire production area.
Below, the yellow robotic arm grippers steadily hold a reel of enameled/bare copper wire, ready to be fed into the stranding machine behind.
Features: The pneumatic balancing system allows for “zero-gravity” operation of the reel, weighing tens of kilograms. A single person can easily complete the handling and loading/unloading, significantly reducing labor intensity and avoiding damage to the copper wire or workplace injuries caused by manual handling.
Core application details
Installation Method: Rail-mounted Suspension System
The manipulator arm is fixed to an aluminum alloy track on the workshop ceiling. It can move back and forth along the track, covering the entire stranding machine production line, enabling multi-station sharing and solving the problem of limited coverage of traditional fixed robotic arms.
Equipment Parameters and Safety Design
The image clearly indicates a rated load of 250kg, meaning it can accommodate most specifications of copper wire reels. It also notes “No standing under the cantilever,” reflecting industrial equipment safety regulations and preventing injury from falling heavy objects.
Dedicated Gripper Design
The yellow gripper at the end of the robotic arm is a custom-designed tooling fixture for wire reels. It can directly support the axis or edge of the reel, achieving stable gripping while avoiding squeezing or scratching the copper wire.
Application advantages: Solves the core pain points of cable production
| Pain Points: | The transformative impact of robotic arms: |
| Manual handling of wire reels is labor-intensive. | The pneumatic balancing system enables “zero-gravity” operation, allowing a single person to easily handle 250kg reels of wire, significantly reducing worker fatigue. |
| Inaccurate reel loading and positioning, resulting in low efficiency. | The manipulator arm achieves millimeter-level precision positioning, increasing the efficiency of the wire reel’s connection to the stranding machine’s feeding mechanism several times over, reducing downtime. |
| Manual handling easily causes damage to copper wires and workplace injuries. | Dedicated grippers provide stable gripping, preventing scratches on the copper wire; they also eliminate the risk of impacts and twisting injuries from heavy handling, improving production safety. |
| Inconvenient material loading at multiple stations on large production lines. | The suspended track design allows for movement along the track, covering the entire production line and enabling shared feeding across multiple stranding machines. |
Industry Adaptability
These suspended power-assisted manipulator, besides being used in the cable industry, are also widely applied in:
Handling large workpieces in automotive parts and home appliance manufacturing
Material handling in cleanrooms of the food and pharmaceutical industries
Loading and unloading heavy goods in logistics and warehousing.
