System Overview
The Automated Container Unloading Robot is an intelligent device designed specifically for ports, logistics warehouses, and factory receiving areas. It is primarily used to replace manual labor in performing repetitive heavy-duty handling tasks inside hot, cramped containers. The system utilizes high-precision 3D vision detection, a six-axis industrial robot (or gantry robot), and a composite gripping mechanism to automatically identify and smoothly unload cartons, woven bags, or turnover boxes.
Core Technology Architecture
3D Vision Perception System
The vision system is the robot’s “eyes,” installed at the end of the robotic arm or above the container entrance.
Depth Imaging: Employs industrial-grade 3D laser cameras or structured light cameras to scan the stacking status of goods inside the container in real time.
AI Algorithm Processing: Utilizes deep learning algorithms to extract features from complex situations such as irregular stacking, package compression deformation, and label obstruction, calculating the optimal gripping point and normal vector.
Obstacle Detection: Automatically identifies the container’s inner walls, bottom pallets, and foreign objects to prevent collisions.
Flexible Gripping End Effector (EOAT)
Depending on the type of goods, the end effector typically adopts a modular design:
Sponge Suction Cup Array: Suitable for cardboard boxes, featuring multi-zone independent control, firmly adhering even to uneven surfaces.
Pneumatic Fingers/Grippers: For woven bags or flexible packaging, employing a hooking or lifting design to prevent packaging damage.
Lateral gripping device: Provides additional support for heavy or long cargo.
Telescopic conveyor base
Robots are typically integrated into movable telescopic platforms:
Automatic walking mechanism: The robot base can enter the container interior along ground rails or via an AGV chassis.
Multi-stage telescopic conveyor belt: As unloading progresses, the conveyor automatically extends into the container, ensuring seamless connection of the gripped cargo to the main conveyor line.
