Cantilever Lifting Crane

Cantilever Lifting Crane

System Architecture

The system consists of three parts: a high-rigidity cantilever support, a precision pneumatic balancing unit, and a specialized steel pipe clamp.

Support Structure: Utilizes a column-type or wall-mounted cantilever. The boom typically uses lightweight aluminum alloy rails or Q355B square tubing to reduce rotational inertia.

Pneumatic Balancing Unit: The core lifting component, achieving “zero-gravity” levitation through compressed air pressure compensation.

End-of-Arm Clamp (EOAT): A centering mechanical gripper and external lifting device designed specifically for steel pipes.

Working Principle

A. Constant Pressure Balancing Technology

The system controls the pressure within the cylinder through precision pressure reducing valves and proportional valves. After the clamp grips the steel pipe, the system senses load changes and automatically adjusts the air pressure to achieve a dynamic balance between the lifting force and the load weight.

B. Self-Adaptive Steel Pipe Center of Gravity

For steel pipes of varying lengths, the clamp is designed with an automatic centering function. At the moment of gripping, the clamp’s mechanical structure automatically locks the steel pipe’s axis, and combined with the rigid support of the assist arm, effectively prevents violent swaying of long pipes during movement.

Intelligent and Safety Highlights

Auto-Sensing: The system automatically identifies “no-load” and “loaded” states, eliminating the need for manual balance button switching and enabling seamless operation.

Air Supply Interruption Self-Locking Protection: Equipped with a one-way check valve and mechanical air tank. Even if the plant’s air supply is suddenly interrupted, the clamps maintain clamping force, and the robotic arm will slowly descend from its current position or physically lock, preventing the risk of a fall.

Anti-Sudden Impact Function: At the moment of unloading, the system automatically limits the cylinder retraction speed to prevent the robotic arm from “suddenly” impacting the operator due to the loss of load.
