System Architecture
In the packaging, film production, and printing industries, roll film handling manipulator have become core tools for protecting the integrity of material surfaces and improving loading and unloading efficiency. Addressing the physical characteristics of roll films (such as plastic films, aluminum foil, and non-woven fabrics)—such as their susceptibility to deformation, scratches, and variable center of gravity—the following is a detailed technical solution description.
This system typically employs a rigid-arm balancing structure to address the significant eccentric torque generated during the flipping and docking of the film reel.
Actuator: Utilizes high-rigidity aluminum alloy connecting rods or carbon fiber arms to ensure a lightweight system with low inertia.
Power System: Pneumatic Balancing: Suitable for standard handling, utilizing compressed air to achieve “zero-gravity” floating.
Full Servo Drive: Suitable for high-precision alignment (such as precise docking of receiving and dispatching reels), offering faster response times.
End Effector (EOAT): Features an internal expansion or external clamping structure and integrates a 90° motor/pneumatic flipping mechanism.
Core Technical Parameter Table

Customized Gripping Solutions
1. Internal Expansion Gripper
Principle: Employs multi-point expansion blocks made of high-strength polyurethane or knurled alloy.
Advantages: Does not contact the film surface, completely avoiding compression damage or contamination of the outer film layer.
2. External Clamping
Principle: Employs a large-area arc-shaped clamping plate lined with a high-friction flexible pad.
Applications: Suitable for special materials without a core or with insufficient core strength that cannot be internally expanded (such as some extremely thin foils).
