System Architecture
Electromagnetic manipulators for steel coil handling have become core transfer equipment on cold-rolled, hot-rolled, and precision steel strip slitting lines. Compared to traditional mechanical grippers, the electromagnetic solution achieves “zero physical compression,” effectively preventing edge deformation and surface scratches on the steel strip.
This solution typically consists of a heavy-duty rigid-arm robotic arm and a digital electromagnetic lifting device, primarily addressing the rapid handling of large, heavy-duty ferromagnetic workpieces.
Actuator: Employs a high-rigidity parallelogram linkage mechanism or a servo-driven rigid arm, providing exceptional anti-sway capability.
Electromagnetic Chuck: Utilizes electro-permanent magnet technology. Power is applied only during the picking and releasing phases; continuous power is not required during the gripping process.
Control System: Integrates an automatic magnetic force adjustment algorithm, automatically matching the optimal excitation current based on the coil diameter and material.
